Once there was a boy in me
inside my head I'd mess those up
who put me down and made me feel ashamed
cowardly call me names in groups
shout abuse across the room
I'd succumb to my dream-like state again
Telekinesis is cool to throw some prick across the room
and give them something more than a migraine
punching that guy in the throat or pushing them down a staircase
their broken bones would be the last thing on my mind
And then there's those to told me to give up my dream it's too far-fetched
"knuckle under, follow the crowd" they said
a sure-fire way to mediocrity, day in day out a chewed up cassette
playing through two broken speakers on and on and on again
Don't you hate those who always shut you out?
Don't you just hate who are putting others down?
I'd love to raise a middle-fingered toast to those cowards back from school
and those who tried to dissuade me from my dream because they've given up their own

How one mere human being can be endowed to dictate a nation of
Unalike lives, views and quality of life
From the poverty stricken up to the wealthiest of men
Force feeding fear into the hearts of residents of a
far from perfect media ran social experiment
Are we mice or men?
The simplicity to believe everything that they've ever said
Can we just stand up for ourselves
There's power in numbers, there's anger harbored within the working class
The choice is only yours to take off the blindfold and
comprehend the propaganda
they've tainted upon our lives
Our subdued ears now scan like a radar

Like, the amber glow of a summer sunset
my childhood shines bright in my mind
just like it should for everyone upon the earth
we traded innocence in for wisdom
To reminisce is to conflict with
living life out to your every wish
Can you believe it's been so long
We can't forget what is gone
I can try to piece the puzzle back together
but places change as do people too
The places we used to hang around after school
are no longer there but then again neither are you
